There is a ton of chatter out there about Apple’s new iTunes Logo and not all of it is good. It seems that there are a lot of iTunes fans that feel like the new logo either sucks or is “irrelevant.” What do you think? Has Steve and Apple’s designer made another major misstep? Why do you think they made the change?
My only comment at the moment is that I am not surprised that they finally updated the logo. In an age where the CD is all but dead, it seems strange to me that people would still have such an attachment to the original logo. Like all things that Apple does, this logo is clearly a break with the past, both with how music was once physically distributed and with how we actually think about and interact with it.
It will be interesting to watch as the company starts making more efforts with social media. It seems like a nice move and it is about time that Apple recognizes that music is often a social experience.
