I was stumbling around the web the other day looking for interesting websites when I ran into the official Don Q’s Lady Data site. This is a interesting example of a company that is looking for ways to connect in meaningful ways with their customers. They manufacture and sell rum. Why in the world would they ever want to provide polling data from a whole bunch of young women?
I doubt that I need to elaborate on the why. This site is for the player or wanna-be player who is interested in doing his homework prior to hitting the town. The idea isn’t that original, but it is a great attempt at connecting with the company’s main demographic.
What’s your equivalent of Don Q’s Lady Data?
When trying to build solutions for your customers, ask yourself a few questions:
- Do you know your target audience well enough to provide her with a much needed tool?
- If not, what do you need to do to learn about her?
- Should your solution be online?
- Is there something you can do in your retail location to provide valuable solutions?
Solutions like this don’t have to be complicated. It could be something as easy as providing your customers with a pamphlet or demonstration on how to best use your product.
