“The Road” by Cormac McCarthy

"The Road" by Cormac McCarthy

I was watching the credits after watching “No Country for Old Men” a while back and noticed that it was based on a book by Cormac McCarthy. Loving books, I had to look into this amazing author. So I looked him up on Amazon and discovered an interesting book called “The Road.” If you’re up for an intense and scary look at a post apocalyptic world, this is the book to read.

In “The Road” McCarthy tells the story of a father and son who have survived a dramatic shift in the earth’s weather that has left billions of people dead. They are left to make a life for themselves in a brutal, harsh new world where many of the survivors have turned to cannibalism to survive. It is a greusome tale that is filled with suspense and it will send chills up your spine as you think about what would happen if something like this ever occurred for real.

This isn’t the book to read if you’re looking for a pick me up; however, if you love suspense this is an amazing book. I will definitely be looking into several of McCarthy’s other books in the near future.
