3 Ways to Listen to Your Customers: Part 5

ListenListen, ask and watch (LAW) – This is a great way to find out how to improve your business and come up with innovations that potentially make you a lot of money. But there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind.

What about the customers that aren’t shopping your store?

All of the components of LAW focus on the customers that are shopping in your store. You’ll need to devise a way to gather information from those who aren’t shopping with you. However, what I would say is that if you are indeed using LAW as a way to make key improvements to your business, your customers are going to talk. They will be telling their friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors about you and the amazing things you are doing.

It is important to realize that all of this will take time. With a little patience, you can make a difference in ways that will dramatically improve the long-term, sustainable growth of your business.

Your best approach is one that is integrated

Each of the tools we have discussed can be effective when used alone. Yet, for the best results, you will want to pick and choose the ones that are going to help you the most. As you do this, you should be using all three in tandem in order to gain as wide of perspective as possible. Don’t fall into the trap of only using one method and narrowing your view of things so much that you might make decisions that could be detrimental.
