I travel all over the place these days and as a stressed out business traveler, I’ve noticed something strange: WiFi tends to be free in the strangest of places. Why is it that I can go to a tiny hotel in the middle of nowhere and get free WiFi. Yet, at some of the nicer hotels that I have stayed at, including the five-star Disney Yacht Club, you are charged an arm and a leg for an Internet connection?
What perplexes me about the whole thing is that a premium hotel charges you an arm and a leg for everything. So why not provide your business guests with a WOW experience by providing them with something that is vital to their business needs free of charge? Instead, you disappoint them and make them feel like you are gouging them for every single penny you can.
